Who impacts daily life the most ? Celebrities ? Politicians ?

Celebs v Politicians, which group impacts our every day life the most ?

So when reading that title im guessing many of you huffed, puffed and shrugged, with a slightly “I know that answer, please …..” feeling. As im expecting the majority of readers thought Politicians ? But ……. are politicians that important, impacting our lives, our lifestyle ? Iv begun to realise that politicians seem to be strangely powerless. Almost like that supply teacher, that almost always lost control of their class, stuck between rebellious children and no real way of control.

Now comparing this to modern day politicians they seem stuck between the European Union, criminal lawyers, claims companies, large multi-national companies, quick thinking business advisors and even the weather. Politicians seem to be powerless to all of these groups and factors. Ok maybe the weather shouldn’t really be on that list. It always seems completely absurd that international companies can get away with moving HQ’s to pay the cheapest tax. The European Union fines the UK Millions of pounds a year for all manner of ‘breaches’ including not flying EU flags at EU subsided buildings, or the use of barbed wire which contravenes human rights. Alongside this, claims put in against public services, councils and emergency services. Politicians seem utterly powerless!

If I then said how do celebs impact our every day lives ? people copy how they talk, how they look, what they wear, what they spend their money on, even our thoughts ! Just think of your favourite celeb, if He/She expressed a view, would you agree with their thoughts more than other sources ? Now imagine if TV presenters expressed their views. If someone famous tweeted/posted/said to meet at a given place, it would be expected that people would (just like we see when crowds mob celebs). If people see well know car show presenters openly showing disgust or hate upon a car or manufacturer they’ll know doubt pick up this opinion themselves. That comedian that shares very controversial jokes, that acceptance of ‘what is morally right ?’ can be pushed to new boundaries. These groups of people actually affect opinions, the way in which people go about their life, their buying habits.

I think there’s definitely a valid argument that celebrities, people that strike connections and people that have hours of limelight/airtime have a massive impact on daily lives and lifestyles. On the other hand, when a politician speaks everyone becomes more critical, heightened awareness of what the person is trying to achieve. Unlike the celebs that become lovable and connect with viewers. Then begin showing us their trusted brands items, or their opinions. Politicians wear as meet criticism, they again have limited power verbally, just like their limited powers enabling them to carry out their duties.

I now ask the question to you, what do you think ? Celeb, or politician who impacts your life the most ? (not who you like/support the most, but who impacts the most).
