Tech and society

Today I found myself pondering the subject ‘ future technology’, and found a bemused/entangled web.

Having watched many videos about technology replacing jobs, I begun pondering the ‘future’ The companies employing technology, instead of human equivalents. And the costs involved when technology provides the services and products for society.
I found myself rather bemused and entangled, in a web of complicated relationships between society, companies and money. Thus I thought I would share some interesting thoughts.

The growth of technology, really could be extremely positive, but i do fear one day it could easily be detrimental…..Companies are always increasing the use of technology, factories, call centres, office jobs etc. Then decreasing  their workforce. As one company this may only create 20plus unemployed people, but on a larger scale its definitely something to think about. More unemployed people and with less money in their pockets.

Meanwhile back in the factories, sectors and industries employ smaller limited workforces. Manning the machines, or providing services with the human touch, technology just can’t yet provide. The smaller workforce should mean less outgoings/salaries being paid to people directly from the company. Depending on the costs of the technology, it would be expected that the company would make increased profits.  So a more efficient, improved way of working right ????

I now pose the mega bucks question.......... Who’s now buying the product/service ?

The Public?

Well a large majority of the public have no excess money to spend, and been left unemployed. With limited people in employment, there’s less money in circulation, and companies find their product/service seems to have no customer.
