The trap of Materialism

The trap of Materialism -

Hey guys the following link is to a very thought provoking video. Revaluating how we as a society or as individuals can beat, or minimise the risks of consumerism and materialism. Its easy to forget who constructs consumerism but this video makes the valid point that the people who should try to minimise the risks to us, are the ones who promote commercialism. The government in the name of economic growth promote individuals to spend more to get the economy going, but adcourse this only brings debt, depression and environmental impact. Theres also great points made on how to live more ethically, learning to live with less money, therefore improving our happiness. Enjoy !!

Housing crisis ?

Optimistic visions ? Or the start of a revolution ?

For a long time now we have debated the so called “housing crisis” hitting the UK. As an avid outdoor sports enthusiast, these debates have swayed me from moments of fear, hysteria, to moments of ‘head in sand’. But as I see the many proposals, almost surrounding the town in which I live, I wonder what will the future hold. Will I one day have to travel for hours on end, to find green areas to walk the dog, will I swap my mountain bike for a cycle machine ? or my kayaking equipment with a rowing machine ?  Will my future children only experience the great outdoors, once a month? once a year ? on a games console ? Watching wildlife documentary’s ? Or playing football on an AstroTurf.
